I was thinking for 2010 Manager maybe Clint Hurdle or Bob Melvin
They are certainly considerations. It all really boils down to who the Nationals decide there GM is. Once that selection has been made, the new GM should have every opportunity to assemble his own staff from the Dominican Summer League pitching coach all the way up to the field manager in DC.

Man, you two are dumping on Zim for confirming the issues with Acta that I an many others have suspected for over a year?
Somehow it is Zim's fault not Manny's that he lost the clubhouse by insisting on his own ways without any modification of approach regardless of the deteriorating situation.
I know you Steven have a hard time with admitting mistakes but come on....Zim's comments confirm the problems Acta caused, Zim's comments did not cause the problems.
I don't recall saying it was Zimmerman's fault. My comment was that he didn't say anything openly prior to the firing (whether it be direct or implied) but said something as he headed out the door. It just rubbed me the wrong way.
If you're going to go the retread route, why not go for retreads that actually have built winners from losers, like Davey Johnson and Buck Showalter? Or have one of them interview your minor league guys for the interim job.

Steven,
You have been known for your revisionist history with respect to Milledge and Acta. Don't make me go back and find your quotes again about how Milledge's poor attitude is unfounded and that Acta does his motivating and disciplining in private. Just this week you said that "Manny's shown the ability to be an excellent motivator, which in my view is 80% or more of a manager's job".....Come on now.....how much more evidence and player quotes do you need to see.......Self Help Books????? sure that worked well for Milledge and Guz...........What were you thinking just a day or two ago with that statement?
